Educational Philosophy
The educational philosophy of Graduate Program in Medical Physiology focuses on student-centered teaching and learning approaches to promote life-long learning, experiential learning and continuous development with students’ experience (constructivism) of medical physiology knowledge and research which can be applied for innovation in an attempt to improve and promote academic excellence, research excellence, health-related service for thai and international population with moral, integrity, ethical and professional manner.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
By the end of the study, doctoral graduates are able to
- Respond consistently on the basis of ethical principles in academic or professional contexts.
- Demonstrate the thorough understanding of a substantial body of medical physiology including its latest developments that potentially impact on the area of inquiry.
- Apply a detailed and leading- edge knowledge of medical physiology in the creative analysis of an area of interest.
- Act professionally with full responsibility to improve personal effectiveness and facilitation in group activities.
- Disseminate new insights of medical physiology via oral and written format to peers, academic and professional audiences with the aid of information technology and appropriate knowledge in the principle of mathematics/ statistics in order to apply to medical physiological research.
- Conduct extensive and independent research in medical physiology that expands the frontiers of knowledge in the field of an area of interest.

Study Plan 1 .1 for students who hold Master’s degree and study the dissertation only
- Total time of study should not exceed the study plan.
- Students must complete dissertation (48 credits) as stated in the curriculum.
- Students must meet the English Competence Standard of Graduate Students, Mahidol University defined by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University. (https://graduate.mahidol.ac.th/inter/prospective-students/?topic=english-proficiency)
- Students must pass the qualifying examination following Regulations of Mahidol University on Graduate Studies.
- Students must participate in and pass skill development activities of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University. (http://www.grad.mahidol.ac.th/softskills/en/)
- Students must submit their dissertation and pass the defense examination by following Regulations of Mahidol University on Graduate Studies; and the oral dissertation defense must be open to public.
- Dissertation or part of dissertation are required to publish at least 2 articles in an international academic journal accredited by the Office of the Higher Education Commission and listed by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University. The student’ s name must be the first author or a corresponding author.
Study Plan 2.1 for students who hold Master’s degree and study coursework and dissertation
- Total time of study should not exceed the study plan.
- Students must complete 48 credits in total as stated in the curriculum composed of coursework (at least 12 credits) and dissertation (36 credits) with a minimum cumulative-GPA of 3.00.

Admission Requirements
Plan 1.1 applicants for studying the dissertation only
- Holding a Master’s degree in Physiology, Medical Physiology, Health Sciences, Sciences ( all major) , Dental surgery, Medical, Pharmacy, Nursing science, Physical therapy, Veterinary medicine or related fields, etc. which are accredited by the Office of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
- Having cumulative GPA not less than 3.50 or equivalent.
- Having publication in an international academic journal at least 1 article during the past 5 years. The applicant’s name must be the first author or corresponding author or owner of intellectual property, invention or innovation.
- Have an English Proficiency Examination score as the requirement of Faculty of Graduate Studies. (https://graduate.mahidol.ac.th/inter/prospective-students/?topic=english-proficiency)
- Qualifications different from 2. and 4. may be considered by the Program Administrative Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
